Hear the language you are learning, at the pace you need
Reading in a new language and hearing it are two different skills, and reading silently only trains one of them. Local TTS reads the article, the chapter, or the phrase list aloud in the language it is written in and marks each word as it says it, so the spelling and the sound arrive together. The highlight ties sound to spelling
Each word lights up as it is spoken. That is the part silent reading cannot give you — seeing which letters produced the sound you just heard. Slow the speed down and the highlight slows with it.
